The Appreciation Course on Population and Sustainable Development explores the linkages between 'population‘ and 'sustainable development‘ in India, focusing on the intersection of population issues with are as such as health, education, opportunities for livelihoods, environmental safety and sustainable development.
Course Objectives
• To introduce the contemporary issues in the field of population studies concerning the inter relationships between population and social and economic development.
• To explore and gain insights into the appropriate strategic planning for population stabilization.
• To understand other related thematic areas including environment, gender, reproductive health and other health issues, ageing and population displacement within broader perspectives of population and development.
• To provide an understanding of theory based knowledge as well as field experiences on the several dimensions pertaining to population and sustainable development.
Eligibility: Bachelor‘s Degree or equivalent from any recognized University
